Vanier Community Mental Health Services

The following services are offered to Middlesex families with children age 0-14 experiencing social, emotional, and behavior challenges.

Focused Family Therapy
Focused Family Therapy offers up to 12 sessions with a Child and Family Therapist. Families set goals for dealing with issues that are going on in their lives. Services are held in office space in Strathroy at the Gain Centre and Search Community Mental Health Centre, in Parkhill at the Multiservice Centre, in Glencoe at the Quest Centre and Lucan at the Ausable Centre

Intensive Family Services 
Intensive Family Services provides in home counseling and support, assisting parents to establish and maintain daily routines, improve communication and relationships through consistency and structure.

Group 
Positive Parenting groups offer parents an opportunity to learn strategies that work while parenting their child in a positive manner that builds self esteem. Groups are offered in Strathroy at the Search Community Mental Health Centre every spring and fall.

RAPP-TAPP-C
The focus of this project is to develop, provide, and evaluate services for children under the age of 12 coming to the attention of police and fire service authorities. The aim of this RAPP-TAPP-C (Referral to Alternative Pathways, The Arson Prevention Program for Children) project is to engage children and their parents in treatment services and education with the goal of de-escalating the problematic behaviour and developing healthier coping skills to manage stressful situations and emotions. This is a three year program funded by the Federal National Crime Prevention Center, Public Safety Canada Department.
