WINTER SURVIVAL KIT

  Even a short period of time left exposed to the elements in freezing temperatures could lead to hypothermia and/or frostbite. Be prepared for the unexpected – equip your vehicle with a Winter Survival Kit to keep you warm and safe. You never know when you may need any of these items in an emergency, and they could save your life The kit should contain:

        ·  Socks, mitts, scarf and hats
·
  Blanket and an emergency poncho
·
 Granola or chocolate bars, soda or graham crackers
·
  A first aid kit with seatbelt cutter or pocket knife
·
  Booster cables
·
  Fire extinguisher
·
 A whistle, a signal mirror and flares
·
  3 tip-resistant candles and holder with water proof matches
·
  Shovel
·
  Safety vest
·
  Salt, sand or traction mats
·
  Tow chain
·
  Compass and road maps
·
  Cloth or roll of paper towels
·
  Axe
·
  Windshield scraper and snow brush
·
  Light stick, flashlight and fresh batteries
·
  A ‘Call Police’ sign
·
  Cell phone
·
 Windshield washer fluid
· Extra cash (including coins/cards for telephone)
·  A spare tire and a can of ‘flat tire fixer’
·
  A gas tank that is never less than half full
