WOMEN'S RURAL RESOURCE CENTRE

VISION:  Working Together To Build A Safe Community

The Women’s Rural Resource Centre of Strathroy and Area is a non-profit organization that is committed to supporting women and children who are in abusive relationships.  The services include an emergency shelter in Strathroy where women and children can stay for a period of six weeks.  During these six weeks, a counsellor works with the woman on safety planning, and connecting the woman with housing, financial or legal referrals and resources in the community.
Second Stage Housing is affordable transitional housing available to women who need a safe place for up to 1 year after leaving an abusive relationship
If a woman is questioning her relationship or simply needs support, information or referrals she can contact the 24-hour Help Line 1-800-265-5390.

     Service Available in Glencoe

One other service that the Women’s Rural Resource Centre provides is long-term individual counselling. This service is for women over the age of 16, who have experienced abuse or who are presently in an abusive relationship.  This service is free and confidential.  The service is available on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Quest Centre, Glencoe.  If you have any questions, or would like to schedule an appointment, contact Donna at (519) 246-1526 ext 228.
