AN OVERVIEW OF
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS & SERVICES

The Centre serves as a meeting place where a number of community support organizations may meet privately with their clients. Confidentiality is assured. The Centre has office and meeting space available for both profit and non-profit organizations, fees may apply. These groups include:

     EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT

  • Employment Counsellor: Career planning and exploration, employment loss, skills assessment, training or education opportunities, job search advice

  • Workshops: 'Resume Writing', 'The Road To Your Future', 'Lifeworks'

  • Resume preparation and cover letter writing

  • Free public access to computers and the internet

  • Minimal charge for printing (free for job search)

  • Faxing and photocopying available for a fee (free for job search)

  • Resource Binder containing informative articles on strategies for job search; interviewing tips; networking; staying motivated; career change; labour market; being a ‘star employee’; samples of resumes, cover letters and thank you notes

  • Job Search Websites

  • Job Board available to employers and job seekers 

    COMMUNITY PROGRAMS and SERVICES

  • Accommodation, Training and Networking (ATN)
  • Children’s Aid Society: The Society’s primary function is to protect children. They are obligated to investigate allegations of abuse/neglect of children, and assess the level of risk the child(ren) in the home face    
  • Credit Counselling: Available to address financial management and debt concerns.  Article: 'Dealing With Christmas Debt'

  • Family Service Thames Valley: Provides counselling for individuals, couples and families who have concerns such as stressful life situations,  relationship problems, times of transition or loss, emotional distress, and the impact of trauma or abuse. Article regarding FSTV at the QUEST Centre 

  • Hutton House: Supporting youth and adults with disabilities               

  • Income Tax Returns: Drop off centre for qualifying persons of low income and simple and straightforward tax situations - prepared by volunteers  free of charge

  • Interfaith Counselling: For EI and EI-Reachback eligible clients

  • John Howard Society (Youth Outreach Counsellor) 
  • LEADS Employment Services: Employment and skills development service for people with disabilities and/or barriers
  • Middlesex Ontario Works: Social Services, employment services, assessing clients with career planning, financial assistance

  • Probation Meetings: Probation Officer can meet with client

  • Reconnect: Youths under 21 and who have dropped out of school.  Services include credit recovery programs, literacy and numeracy programs,  outreach and referral services, resources,  education & career planning

  • Search: Provides service for people experiencing mental health difficulties and assist with daily living skills, advocacy and realizing personal goals

  • Tyke Talk: Speech therapy for pre-school children

  • U-Turn Suspension: Provides services for high school youth who have been suspended or expelled giving them the opportunity to keep up with their credit work

  • Vanier Children’s Services: Counselling, cognitive  behaviour therapy, medications and parent training, as well as individual and family therapy. Article regarding Vanier Children's Services at the QUEST Centre

  • Woman’s Rural Resource Centre (WRRC): Physical and emotional safety, advocacy, counselling and support for abused women. Article  regarding WRRC  at the QUEST Centre

EDUCATIONAL and SKILLS UPGRADING

  • Variety of Computer Courses at different levels ar e offered throughout the year

  • Correspondence Courses: Self-study courses available to earn high school credits 

  • Standard First Aid and CPR Training and Recertification

  • Child Safety Education Courses: ‘Babysitting Training’, ‘Home Alone’, ‘Stranger Smarts’, ‘Never Bee Lost’, ‘Cybersafe’

  • Beginner Computer Tutorials: 1 1/2 hour session $25.  Appointment required
